Bob Gee has lived in the Pacific Northwest all his life. He was born in a small coastal town just south of the Oregon border called Crescent City California, on Sept. 14, 1954. Bob has one sister Beverly J Raffaele and three brothers Tommy & Donny Gee and Pat Hales His mother Ella Jean Mercer is deceased. His Father and step-mother, Tom and Bea Gee, Live in Southern Oregon When his Aunt Charlotte came to live in his childhood home when he was just a boy, he was introduced to her guitar. She would sing and play songs for the family like "Freight Train" and others. She would sing with his mother and in solo. She was with them for just a short time but it was in those moments, that the love of music entered deep into his soul. His mother always sang and his father loved good rockabilly and blues guitars. The same story affected his older brother Tom. When the boys were young adolescents, their dad bought a bass guitar for Tom at an auction sale. Once in his hands, that was it. Tom taught Bob, They both soared and with both of them in their fifties, they are still playing. Besides his love of music, Bob has a deep love for the Sequoia Redwoods that surround his home town. They are ingrained in him. He paints beautiful landscapes depicting the redwood forest. He has painted many other landscapes as well and paints only to give them away to his family who treasures them dearly. You will see his work below and in The Art Gallery. He hand crafts boats to scale and has handcrafted many of his guitars. His joy is in sharing his gift with others. Money and fame mean nothing to him. If you ever had a chance to hear him play, then you would understand that it is something he has to do because it is so much a part of who he is. He also plays piano and other musical instruments. He has a little studio where he has recorded much of his work. Over the years Bob has performed in several bands including the photos you see of his days in "The Dueces Wild." His loves are his wife Rhonda, and his family. He says that some are meshed so deep in his heart that they are a part of his internal soul. |
